Liverpool players got together for a yoga session on Zoom and recorded a video that reminded us all what we’re missing so much.
Jurgen Klopp and the fitness staff have been getting the Liverpool squad together via the online conferencing tool to engage in all sorts of behaviour.
And it’s reminded us all of what we’re missing so much while football is suspended due to the COVID-19 restrictions.
It’s not just the on-field action that we miss. It’s the camaraderie shown by the players, the squad spirit and the way we love seeing Liverpool go about their business.
The video shows just how tight this group of players are – lead by the incredible Klopp. All the first team stars are there, with Virgil van Dijk and Georginio Wijnaldum taking up the reigns of keeping the chat flowing.
Although Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has a few moments worth watching out for, too.
There was also a birthday song for Harvey Elliott. With a multi-national squad, the signing including Arabic from Mohamed Salah, Albanian from Xherdan Shaqiri, Dutch from van Dijk and Wijnaldum as well as Oxlade-Chamberlain piping up with a bit of French.
And among it all is Andy Lonergan, looking like he’s just won a prize to send a day with the squad. In many ways, he has, and he’ll be part of the Premier League winning team after spending a career in the Championship with 335 appearances.
It was also good to see Naby Keita chipping in, speaking English, especially after Sadio Mane told the Guinea international to improve his language skills.
Takumi Minamino was quiet, although as someone new to the side you’d maybe expect that. It’s good to see spirits high, even just for a moment, as everyone tries to keep fit and ready for when the season finally gets going again.
