Liverpool are set to make first team promises to Curtis Jones when 2020/2021 finally kicks off.

The Merseyside local has been making waves this season for Liverpool as he’s performed well in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup.

But Curtis Jones won’t go on loan next season. Instead, Jurgen Klopp wants him around the main playing group in order to continue his development – reported the Echo.

With Xherdan Shaqiri primed to leave Merseyside whenever the transfer window opens and Adam Lallana set to depart on a free transfer, there will be space in the forward areas of the pitch and the Scouse youngster could fill that gap.

Klopp tends to keep the best  Academy prospects around, although Rhian Brewster has been sent to Swansea City on a temporary basis to gain first team experience.

But we’ve seen Trent Alexander-Arnold go from zero to hero in a few years, Sepp van den Berg kept around Melwood and Harvey Elliott nowhere near a spell in the Championship, League One or League Two.

Harry Wilson has been the next great hope for a few years but it doesn’t look like the Welsh international will play a role going forward. He’s impressed, in parts, during his time with Bournemouth but doesn’t look as if he’ll be good enough for the Premier League with Liverpool.

One other starlet who could join him is Neco Williams. The right-back has come from nowhere to look as if he could be first team ready thanks to several promising performances against Premier League sides this season.

With Jones, Williams and Elliott knocking about next season the future is starting to look brighter. We all love seeing academy graduates around the main group of players and Klopp is bringing through more than ever.

Whenever 2020/2021 kicks off, there is plenty to be excited about. This is just the start.
