There’s a massive u-turn coming up for a £7.25 million Liverpool loan man when the transfer window reopens.
Liverpool have got a number of players on temporary deals. From Nathaniel Phillips at Stuttgart in Germany to Liam Millar in Scotland to Ovie Ejaria in the Championship, Jurgen Klopp has got plenty of talented footballers away from Melwood.
Sometimes their future can to and fro from promising to surplus to requirements, and the teams they’re already at can switch between wanting a permanent deal to not being able to afford future terms.
Sometimes, things can change within the same season and for the same side.
This is what Turkish outlet Fotospor has said about Besiktas and Liverpool goalkeeper Loris Karius.
This saga has got more twists and turns than Tiger King and we’re all ready for it to be over, if we’re honest. First they didn’t want him, then they did, then he wasn’t getting paid on time and was off, then Besiktas were happy for Loris Karius to stay until the end of his two-year deal but no longer.
Now they want him forever.
The publication has said the German is confident he can be some sort of mediator in a deal that sees him move to Turkey on a free transfer. Loris Karius is due unpaid wages, but he’s so desperate to leave Liverpool that he’ll even waive those as well.
This is a pretty unique thing to do. Not only has the goalkeeper offered to be his own negotiator in order to convince the club to lose a multimillion pound asset for absolutely nothing, but he’s also happy to lose money owed as well.
He either absolutely loves Turkey and Besiktas, which seems strange given the abuse he’s received in the past, or this story is a little bit off the mark.
Either way, good luck to the man.
