A bizarre claim that links Liverpool and Manchester United’s January import Bruno Fernandes has got fans in stitches on Twitter.
Liverpool, who are 25 points clear of Manchester City at the top of the Premier League, and who have only lost one league game all season, have been the subject of some incoherent ramblings on the social media.
It’s been two record breaking campaigns for Jurgen Klopp and the boys, who were denied their first league title for 30 years by the Man City machine. But the machine is missing a few parts this time around and Liverpool have made the most of that.
Being that far ahead at this point in the season is the stuff dreams are made of, and it’s the things legends are born from as well. Which is why The United Stand have made such a mess of their tweet.
Liverpool are in a pretty unique position of strength and can only get better as time goes on. Klopp is nowhere near done with the squad, and their financial stability means FSG can afford to spend big money on one or two elite players to make the team ever better.
Manchester United tried that approach in January when they signed Bruno Fernandes from Sporting for £49.50m.
It's not an unpopular opinion because nobody else is thinking this. https://t.co/HVjEiYipF5

That’s where things get silly, because Twitter account The United Stand have claimed that United would be fighting for the Premier League title if they had brought the Portuguese man in at the start of the campaign rather than half way through.
Their stance is that the midfielder is worth 30 extra points in his own right – which means Fernandes would have had to win United 10 games on his own.
Nobody helps a team win nearly a quarter of the season by themselves, especially not someone in a side as fragile as Manchester United – a side who lost 2-0 to Burnley at the end of January.
