Liverpool are close to agreeing terms with a player labeled the ‘next David Beckham’, according to insider reports.

Jurgen Klopp is always looking to take Liverpool to the next level, and that includes planning for the future by bringing in the best young talent from around the world.

As well as having a strong first team squad, Klopp has tried to make the most of the Academy and we’ve already seen him promote a number of youngsters from Kirkby.

Neco Williams and Curtis Jones have made their mark in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup and we can expect to see them continue their journey in 2020/2021.

Sepp van den Berg was brought in to complement the existing options in central defence and if Dejan Lovren leaves he might be brought up as the fourth choice center-back.

But there’s one lad who has an incredibly bright future, said ex-Leeds United forward Noel Whelan and it’s someone that we know is a little bit special.

Harvey Elliott is still only 17-years-old but has been around the first team since he moved to Liverpool from Fulham in the summer. The confidence and quality the teenager has displayed is remarkable, and Klopp wants to secure his future.

Football Insider has written that Elliott is close to agreeing a new contract, while Whelan believes that training with stars like Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah will take him to the next level.

“Could he be the next Beckham or (Wayne) Rooney?” mused the former player.

If Liverpool look after him properly, there’s every chance that Harvey Elliott could be as special as those two players.

Beckham and Rooney both broke through into the first team at a young age, and while our starlet might have to wait a little longer, his future could be as bright as the pair.

He’s already made his debut and plays with confidence and maturity beyond his years. The future is definitely exciting.
