Liverpool do not need to spend millions on backups

Defenders
As for the defense, the only area of need is a long-term backup for Alisson. Liverpool fans have seen firsthand how important it is to have reinforcements in goal. So, if the development of Kamil Grabara and Caoimhin Kelleher isn’t up to par, spending a bit of money should be considered.
At full-back, the dilemma of finding a backup should be put to an end as Neco Williams seems to be the real deal. The Welshman has grown exponentially in the past year and already looks capable of playing regularly at the first-team level. Lastly, the center-backs. Joel Matip probably starts for every other club in the Premier League so having him as a third-option in more than ideal. As for Lovren, though he might not be popular among the fans, it would be hard to find a better fourth-option anywhere in the world. Dutch youngster Ki-Jana Hoever has also proven that he can play at a high level anywhere in the back four.
In addition to all of this talent, there are still quality pieces that are out on loan. The likes of Harry Wilson, Marko Grujic, and Rhian Brewster all are capable of being reliable options off the bench and in cup games. Although it’s a phrase hated by all Kopites, they will all feel like “new signings” once they return and are given a fair chance.
The long-awaited move to Kirkby can also open the door for more young talents to make a jump. Liverpool’s shiny new training ground is placed right next to the academy, so it will provide opportunities for talents to learn from the first-team and follow in the footsteps of Elliott, Jones, Williams, Hoever, and Brewster.
With all of the uncertainties surrounding football and transfers, now is the best time to promote young talent and give the much-heralded academy/loan players a chance.
