Liverpool have lined up a deal to sign PSG star Kylian Mbappe, but they’ll have to wait to secure this brilliant deal.
Reports in France, via teamtalk, have indicated that Liverpool could be in a position to move for the elite forward next summer.
Apparently Jurgen Klopp has been talking to Kylian Mbappe‘s father, Wilfried, about a possible deal to take his son to Anfield. Liverpool have been told by PSG to let them have one more season of the 21-year-old but after that he’s all ours.
It kinda goes without saying, but this would be a highly impressive addition to the Liverpool squad and could take the side to the next level.
Even without the Reds getting rid of someone like Sadio Mane, who has ridiculously been linked with moves away, Klopp would be able to fit everyone in the side. Or at least keep them happy in the squad.
It might require a slight formation change, but this is the man who managed to field an electric forward line of Mane, Philippe Coutinho, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah.
The German might have to tweak things a little bit and in the long term that would mean one less midfielder in the squad and a rotation between Fabinho, Jordan Henderson and Georginio Wijnaldum.
Having someone as good as Mbappe in the squad to compliment the rest of the unit would send a real message across Europe and the Premier League. Liverpool are 25 points clear at the top of the table and a transfer as big as this would send ripples across the football landscape.
It would signal to Manchester United and Manchester City that they’re no longer the only players able to attract the best in the world, either through their project or the blunt force of wages.
It would be a game changer.
