Ferran Torres would be a perfect fit under Jurgen Klopp

Liverpool transfer target Ferran Torres would be a perfect fit for manager Jurgen Klopp, says a sporting director with insider knowledge.

Liverpool have been linked with the Spanish youngster as they consider a cheaper alternative to Jadon Sancho, and Ferran Torres could be the perfect man.

According to Valencia’s ex-sporting director, Jurgen Klopp could be the man who gets the best out of the starlet – who has been linked with clubs like Barcelona, Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Fernando Gomez says that Torres is a mature player, who is excellent on the counter-attack and is able to cut in from wide and cause havoc in an inside forward area.

However, the forward is also able to play well in a side that likes to keep the ball – as Liverpool have done for large parts of this season.

Some players might struggle coming across to England and playing for a massive side like the Reds. The pressures are great and the speed of the Premier League has ensured more than a handful of good players haven’t been able to adapt.

"“Klopp’s system fits him and he is mentally very strong to cope with pressure and demands,” said Gomez."

Ferran Torres is worth £40.50 million, say Transfermarkt, so this wouldn’t be a bargain basement deal although it would be cheaper than anything to bring Jadon Sancho in.

He’s only just started his career though, so blowing a major amount of money on the youngster could be considered a slight risk. Torres has less than 100 professional games under his belt for Valencia, with just nine goals and 11 assists.

But he is highly rated and there’s been more than a few links between the 20-year-old and some of the bigger clubs around the world.

And if anyone is going to get the best out of anyone who wants to play for the club, it would be Jurgen Klopp. Keep an eye on this one, there could be legs in it.
