‘I’m learning English’ Serie A star wants move
A Liverpool transfer target from Serie A has confessed that he’s learning English because he wants a Premier League move.
One of the things that can slow a player’s integration with any club is a lack of language skills, and with Liverpool it’s no different, there have been countless reports attributing Naby Keita‘s failure to speak English as one of the reasons he struggled in his first season, but one player is determined to avoid those issues.
In Keita’s instance, it’s odd because the midfielder knew he was moving to Anfield for a full year before he did – yet the Guinea international still rocked up without being able to communicate properly.
But Joaquin Correa won’t make the same mistake.
Sports Mole reported that the Argentine has already started to take English lessons because he wants to make a move to the Premier League – will Liverpool be the Lazio star’s final destination?
"He said: “I’d like to play in the Premier League. Right now, I am concentrating on Lazio, but I enjoy the English league too. I would want to improve my English and I will do that.”"
With seven goals and three assists, the 25-year-old has been an excellent form this season and that has attracted the attention of scouts. He’s also been capped four times by Argentina and has one goal, which help to prove the pedigree of his talent.
Joaquin Correa has played a lot of football as a secondary striker this season but does have some experience playing across the front three – that fluidity will come as a massive bonus to Jurgen Klopp.
This would allow the Lazio man to play with Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah when the opposition is right, as well as provide back-up and competition to the trio in training.
Arriving at Liverpool with a good grasp of English would give Joaquin Correa an immediate advantage and help him to hit the ground running. We know that Klopp integrates slowly but this would be a massive plus.
