Kylian Mbappe continues to flirt with Jurgen Klopp

PSG star and rumoured Liverpool transfer target Kylian Mbappe continues to flirt with Jurgen Klopp and it’s got us all daydreaming about the future.

There’s been an odd pattern this summer where a news item would pop up every few days or so continuing to link Liverpool with elite French forward Kylian Mbappe.

We’ve seen him say complimentary things about the side and the flirting with manager Jurgen Klopp has continued this week.

According to French sauces, the gaffer phoned up Mbappe’s dad to have a word with him. We assume they weren’t discussing the best way to make French onion soup.

Whether or not you think this type of tapping up is charming or over-the-top doesn’t really matter. If the rumours are true, the German is doing his very best to make sure Liverpool are in a great position to sign Mbappe if he ever decides to leave.

Now the flirting has gone back the other way, too. The Daily Mail has reported that the 21-year-old loves the fact that Klopp has gone the extra mile and fluttered his eyelashes Anfield’s way.

Liverpool have been interested in signing Mbappe before. The report outlined that Michael Edwards prepared an offer to take him from Monaco to Merseyside in 2017, but that clearly never went through as he know plays in Paris.

But surely he won’t stay there forever. There are always rumblings of discontent coming out of Ligue 1, and they never seem able to challenge for the Champions League.

As a club who reached two European finals in a row, Liverpool are clearly very capable of doing that. They are also competing in the best league in Europe and are winning it.

If Mbappe keeps on flirting with Klopp like this, we might start to think something a little more serious could be on the horizon.
