Liverpool’s latest transfer news is very encouraging.
According to Sam Meade at the Mirror, Liverpool have agreed to extend the loan deals for Harry Wilson and Rhian Brewster until the end of the season.
Wilson and Brewster will now be available for Bournemouth and Swansea City for the rest of their club’s campaign, which will end after their loan contracts were originally due to expire.
This is good news for fans, both players and their temporary clubs because it allows them to carry on with their development without having to worry about their short-term future.
Wilson and Brewster will now be able to continue to have an impact for the Cherries and the Swans. Wilson has been a key part of Eddie Howe’s team this season and has scored seven Premier League goals in 23 appearances.
Brewster only joined Swansea in January but has hit the ground running in Wales. He’s scored four times in nine games and will be a key member of the side as they look to secure a place in the Championship play-off finals.
Had they been forced to return to Liverpool, it’s unlikely that either of the two would have played much of a role under Jurgen Klopp.
Wilson seems destined to end his Anfield career with just one senior appearance under his belt, while Brewster has seen his place to the first team blocked by Roberto Firmino and Divock Origi.
This period of senior football, the first real taste of his career, is an important step in his path to the Liverpool side and will serve as a reminder to us all about his abilities. Right now, stability is vital and regular game time should be encouraged and celebrated.
Brewster and Wilson should be happy that their time away from Merseyside won’t be cut short just yet, and so should the rest of the fanbase.
