Virgil van Dijk

This last slide could have been any number of players. Klopp has built a Liverpool squad that is packed with talent and has no real weak link.

For Jordan Henderson or Alisson or Andy Robertson or Sadio Mane or Roberto Firmino to be left out of the five key players for this game is… well, you get the point.

It’s a beautiful indication of strong the Liverpool side is.

But, Everton have got two talented forward who will pose most of their threat going forward, so Virgil van Dijk is going to be an important man.

As well as his defensive ability, the Dutchman is also a threat going forward and has already scored against Everton from a set piece.

With all this time away from football and a strange atmosphere inside Goodison Park, a place the Reds haven’t always been at their fluid best, it might come down to a set-piece. We know van Dijk can make his influence felt there, too.
