The midfield is the only point of contention with Klopp’s team selection. Liverpool have got real strength in depth in that position and it should give the manager a headache.

Jordan Henderson is definitely going to start. As a general rule, when he’s fit, he plays. Henderson is the heartbeat of the midfield and he’s a real leader – as we’ll begin to hear without crowd noise cloaking Hendo barking instructions.

We saw how much he was missed earlier in the campaign when the former Sunderland man missed games due to his hamstring injury.

Georginio Wijnaldum should start, too. He’s completely trusted by Klopp to make the difference and carry out his instructions to the letter. He’s also a fine technical player and can be moved into a more attacking role, should Liverpool wish.

The final slot is a straight shoot out between Fabinho, Keita and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. This team should pick Keita. He’s been in fine form during this mini preseason and looks sharp.

This could be a vital chance for the manager to have a good look at Keita and see what he can offer for the rest of the season. His style of play is unique among the Liverpool squad and he can cause real panic within Everton lines.
