Liverpool vs Everton: Three options to replace injured Mohamed Salah
Liverpool could miss Mohamed Salah on Sunday.
Jurgen Klopp hasn’t officially ruled Mohamed Salah out of action, but he hasn’t officially ruled him in either.
Paul Gorst, for the Echo, wrote that Xherdan Shaqiri was the only man who wouldn’t take part – but there have been rumours all week that the Egyptian King isn’t feeling himself.
Klopp has got a curious record of leaving Salah out of Merseyside Derby games, even if one of his best goals was scored against Everton.
This time, however, that choice could be taken away from his hands.
We’ve seen manager adapt a more cautious tone when dealing with players and fitness. With the Premier League all but wrapped up, it’ll be interesting to see how Klopp manages the rest of the Liverpool squad.
He’ll certainly want to protect players from picking up injuries that impact the start of the next campaign, whenever that is.
Liverpool are likely to leave the transfer market alone, which means they’re even more incentivised to wrap players like Salah in cotton wool for the remainder of 2019/2020.
With that in mind, let’s have a look to see who could replace the forward on Sunday.
