Sadio Mane

One final option would be to flip Sadio Mane from left to right and play him as a more traditional winger, or give him the freedom to float from that right hand flank, and play Curtis Jones or Divock Origi on the left.

Jones impressed in the FA Cup game against Everton and scored that fantastic goal from outside the area, while Mane has got plenty of experience on the right.

He’s started out there 71 times in his career, although that number significantly reduces during the Senegal international’s Liverpool career. Mane played there four times during 2018/2019 and four times this campaign.

This would be an interesting option for Klopp to take. Elliott and Minamino are too raw, you could argue, to carry out an effective threat from this flank – although it would mean picking the inexperience of Jones or the unpredictability of Origi.

However, the Belgian does normally raise his game against the Toffies and must be keen to get back in the first team picture, especially after the deal to sign Timo Werner broke down so spectacularly.

This one probably provides the strongest threat on the flanks, although Origi in the starting side would diminish the options available from the bench.
