Takumi Minamino didn’t work as Liverpool drew with Everton.

It was a pretty limp performance from a Liverpool side who struggled to create anything and could have lost if it wasn’t for Alisson’s intervention.

Jurgen Klopp sprung a few surprises on us with his selections, picking Takumi Minamino, James Milner and Naby Keita.

Milner replaced Andy Robertson at left-back, while Minamino came in for Mohamed Salah and Georgino Wijnaldum dropped out of the starting XI.

Richarlison, Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Tom Davies had the best chances for Everton, but all were denied by a combination of the goalkeeper or the post.

At the other end, Roberto Firmino could have done better with a shot from range but that was about it for the luckless Reds.

The result means that Liverpool can only win the title at Anfield against Crystal Palace if Burnley make Manchester City drop points. The Clarets are a tricky side to play and it’s not impossible that they’ll be able to get something against City, even though it’s improbable.
