Liverpool 4-0 Palace player ratings: Mohamed Salah completes football
Liverpool smashed Crystal Palace at Anfield. These are the player ratings.
Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold, Mohamed Salah, Fabinho and Sadio Mane sealed the deal and took the Reds one step closer to their first league title in 30 years.
Andy Robertson and Salah started this game after missing out against Everton and Liverpool immediately looked whole again. For once, Graeme Souness was right when he said this was a typical, pre-lockdown Liverpool performance.
Naby Keita was left out in favour of Gini Wijnaldum as Jurgen Klopp decided to pick his favourite starting XI, and it almost instantly paid off.
Crystal Palace had a few warnings before Alexander-Arnold opened the scoring with a brilliant free-kick as Liverpool managed to get in behind the Eagles with more regularity than Everton allowed.
Was that down to Salah and Mane, or just down to Palace?
Roy Hodgson’s men suffered a blow when Wilfried Zaha limped off early and was replaced by Max Meyer, who is normally a central player.
Neco Williams was given his Premier League debut and he had the unenviable job of replacing Alexander-Arnold, although by that stage the game was starting to resemble a training fixture Liverpool remained camped in the Eagles half.
Alisson would have been well served bringing his colouring-in book and a deckchair, such was his level of activity. Scroll down and click through the slides below to read our player ratings from the game!
Keeper
Did Alisson even have a save to make? I guess he has to have a seven, simply because he didn’t do anything wrong while not doing anything, really.
