Midfield

. Fabinho. 7. .

Is this the old Fabinho? He’s been much better since the break and looks like the undroppable player we all knew and loved.

Fab had one dodgy moment all game: when he asked to take the second free-kick and ballooned it over.

But it just got so much better after that as he assisted Salah with a glorious lofted pass and put himself about as we’d expect. Topped it up with a strike event better than the one he scored against Manchester City.

7. . . . Gini Wijnaldum

Maybe the one surprise was that Naby Keita was left out the side in favour of Gini Wijnaldum, but the Dutchman instantly justified that selection. With Fabinho in the side, Wijnaldum was given more license to get forward and he regularly popped up in the box.

Gini put one effort wide, but he had to hit it first time and couldn’t sort his feet up. As Palace dropped off the former Newcastle man got more space to explore.

. Jordan Henderson. 7. .

Playing on the right of the midfield three, Jordan Henderson popped up in forward areas regularly and had two good attempts, one which went over the bar and after that hit the post. He also regularly looked to provide some width on the right and put in a few good crosses.

Looks way better here than in the Fabinho role.
