Liverpool 4-0 Palace: Three things we learned – Old Fabinho is back
Liverpool are back and so is Fabinho.
The Brazilian holding midfielder dominated as Liverpool beat Crystal Palace 4-0 to take one step closer to winning the Premier League.
Jurgen Klopp’s men bounced back brilliantly from the boring 0-0 draw against Everton and will be extremely happy with that performance.
Palace didn’t have a single touch in the Liverpool box as they were completely played off the park. Andy Robertson and Mohamed Salah were back in the side and they made a huge difference.
Trent Alexander-Arnold looked delighted to have Salah behind him, Sadio Mane looked delighted to have Robertson on the overlap.
Salah scored one and assisted one as he proved to be the final piece of the puzzle for Klopp. There are fans who think the Egyptian should be sold to make room for a marquee signing, and that performance on Thursday night shows how important he is.
Fabinho put in a complete performance. His pass to Salah for the second goal was worthy of an end-of-season highlights reel. The Brazilian lifted the ball over the top of Palace’s defence and gave Mo the perfect chance to score.
Fab then followed it up with a rocket of a shot to grab the third of the night. His strike against Manchester City was important but this one was ever better. It was from further out, the strike was cleaner.
