Liverpool are Premier League champions.

That type of news needs to be greeted with excitement, passion and joy.

Sadly, COVID-19 means that many Liverpool fans were forced to celebrate in their own homes, away from Merseyside and the rest of the tribe.

But people took to Twitter instead, the players certainly did.

There were thousands of tweets posted in celebration of the Premier League win, and we’ve tried to compile a list of the best.

It starts off with this one, the build up to the historic win. Chelsea beat Manchester City to hand the Reds the title, thanks to goals from Christian Pulisic and Willian.

The squad were watching the match together, and then this happened when the final whistle blew.

Of course, once Liverpool had been declared Premier League winners, the mass media wanted a piece of the action. Fronting up to the cameras after a beer or two is never an ideal experience, but James Milner and Andy Robertson used it to beg Jurgen Klopp for a few days off.

Match of the Day broadcast their mini interview with the pair on Twitter, where the video got picked up and shared around the Reds fanbase.

Just look at their little faces.

Trent Alexander-Arnold experienced how difficult it can be when Robertson gatecrashed his interview with Liverpool’s in-house media operation, while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain lurked in the background.

The little smile on his face gets me every time. Alexander-Arnold is just a local lads who’s seen all his dreams come true. Champions League, Premier League, he’s nearly won everything that counts.

And then there was the inevitable rushing of Anfield by local Liverpool fans, who broke lockdown guidelines to celebrate together.

They were criticised for doing so, but in light of the crowding of Bournemouth beach just hours earlier, how much are they expected to pick up the burden for their decision making?

There was a massive outpouring of emotion after 30 years without a top flight win.

While fans were partying outside, the celebrations continued for the Liverpool players. Those in the squad that were drinking definitely made the most of it, and the fact that they don’t have to play for another week.

It’s really good to see everyone enjoying each other’s company, and it highlights the spirit within the squad.

And finally, we couldn’t finish things off without a message from the main man himself – James Milner letting that Champion glow just seep in.

dark. Next. LeBron James gets in on the party

Liverpool. Premier League Champions. Say it with me again.
