Fabinho will be a key man for Liverpool on Thursday.

Liverpool looks to continue their incredible form this season with a match-up with City on Thursday.

The newly crowned Premier League Champions will be facing over against the former champions of England In Manchester City on Thursday. The Reds will be receiving a guard of honor from the City players as Pep Guardiola had specified in a press conference earlier in the week.

I expect nothing less than a close match. Manchester City are coming off a 2-1 defeat to Chelsea where they booking anything but the reigning champions of England.

It included a red card for Fernandinho that led to a Willian penalty kick and a bad play by their defense allowed Christian Pulisic to score the first goal. However, before this match against Chelsea, City were in top form coming out of the break.

Liverpool are coming off a 4-0 beat down of Crystal Palace which included stunning goals: A Trent Alexander-Arnold free-kick and Fabinho’s rocket from outside the box.

Liverpool dominated Palace by not allowing a touch inside their own penalty box throughout the entire match.

As far as injuries and suspensions go, City will be without Ferandinho due to the aforementioned red car he received in the match against Chelsea.

This will be a big loss for City considering Fernandinho is a key clog in both midfield and defense. Liverpool will be without Joel Matip who is now out for the remainder of the year with the foot injury he picked up against Everton.

This match will be a close one with both teams looking to press and counter to get their attack going. Keeping Kevin De Bruyne in check will be huge because he is their creator and facilitator. He creates for them and when he has space he is dangerous. Look for Fabinho to keep close tabs on him as the game continues on.

Looking forward to this game, especially the guard of honor! Up the Reds! Champions of England!
