6. . . . Sadio Mane

Mane was part of the bright start but it faded very quickly as he struggled with his finishing and couldn’t get in the game. There were a few positive moments, but they coloured when placed alongside the omni-shambles that was the rest of the team’s performance. Missed two good chances.

Roberto Firmino. 5. . .

Firmino is the glue that sticks this all together but Bobby didn’t dazzle as he failed to make the most of several good attacking chances. Was replaced by Divock Origi, who also struggled to have an impact.

. Mohamed Salah. 6. .

Started brightly with Mane and tried to keep Liverpool in the game, but nothing he did came off as he wasn’t backed up by the midfield.

Will be upset that he didn’t score as the race for the Golden Boot heats up.
