Liverpool vs Villa predicted team: Robertson, Henderson axed after City shocker
Fabinho, Naby Keita, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
After being dominated by the fluidity of Manchester City’s midfield, it wouldn’t surprise me if Klopp changed it up entirely for the upcoming fixture.
Creativity was scarce after the penalty on Thursday, but the Reds’ looked comfortably better when Naby Keita stepped on to the field.
In fact, it is blatantly clear that he has been levels above any Liverpool player since football returned. He deserves to start, and with a run of games in his legs it will hopefully help prevent injury in the long term.
Fabinho wasn’t awful last time out and was excellent against Crystal Palace, looking back to his forceful best in the number six role. He will definitely start.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is the difficult one. On the outside, his own goal marrs his performance which, in truth, was already below par.
Liverpool do lack creativity on occasion in their workmanlike midfield – with Keita and Oxlade-Chamberlain you have it in abundance. Not forgetting he is the reds fourth top scorer this season behind the front three.
