Adam Lallana is leaving Liverpool.

The 32 year-old England international is departing Melwood after six years of service.

Lallana joined the Reds under Brendan Rodgers in the summer of 2014 – one that remains synonymous with shocking transfers.

Lallana emerged as by far and away the best acquisition though – albeit Dejan Lovren is his only real competition.

His impact has been so appreciated by Jurgen Klopp that even though he is reaching the darkening twilight of his Liverpool career, he was offered a short contract extension to celebrate the Premier League title he played so rich a part in getting these past four years.

So to commemorate his time with the Reds, we’ve put together a quintet of moments and performances which really define Lallana’s spell on Merseyside.

5 – A Liverpool screamer for the new stand

2016/17 was definitely Lallana’s best season in his career at Liverpool, if not in its entirety.

He began the season scoring away at The Emirates as Liverpool won 4-3, and the first visitors to Anfield, now congested at over 50,000, were reigning champions Leicester City.

Liverpool began brightly with first half goals from Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane, but a mistake from Lucas Leiva allowed Jamie Vardy to pull one back for the Foxes.

The game was still in the balance, but after good work from Gini Wijnaldum (in his first match at Anfield), Adam Lallana unleashed a shot from outside the area into the stanchion of Kasper Schmeichel’s net.

He wheeled away in a celebration to be forgotten about – but the goal certainly wasn’t – and it started a really rough patch of form for Claudio Ranieri.

Firmino would add another late on after excellent work from Sadio Mane, and the Reds would take home a comfortable victory.
