8. . . . Jordan Henderson

The skipper scored a screamer but don’t let just that define his performance – he was absolutely everywhere.

But it is the goal, sumptuous from outside the box with hints of Steven Gerrard, that really put Liverpool in the driving seat.

This was his fourth strike of the season – more than he scored in the previous three campaigns.

. . Gini Wijnaldum. 6.

It was the usual, grafting performance from Gini. He just never stops running.

It’s what makes him so important for away games as he provides a link between Henderson and Keita – and how crucial he is in gelling everything together.

9. . . . Naby Keita

The Guinea international was by far the best player on the pitch for the first 60 minutes.

At both ends of the field as well.

He provided the assist for Salah’s opener to begin with and was involved in the second via interception.

It feels like we are now starting to see the Naby Keita of the back-end of last season – when he is on it, he’s an absolute animal.

If it wasn’t for his premature departure, he would’ve won our man of the match.
