Liverpool player ratings vs Brighton: Keita 9, Williams ‘excellent’
A winners’ mentality – Mo Salah was visibly frustrated when his 92nd minute effort was denied – having scored a brace already.
His goals – one customary with his left foot, and a header from an Andy Robertson corner – brought him within three of Jamie Vardy and two of Aubameyang.
He became the fourth Liverpool player to contribute over 100 goal contributions, after Michael Owen, Robbie Fowler, and Steven Gerrard.
Our man of the match.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is not a left winger. There, I said it.
He does his job for the team, and that’s all you can ask – but he came to Liverpool looking for a central berth, and we’d sooner see Harvey Elliott get some minutes in his correct position.
Ox pressed well but didn’t show his quality.
He again proved his importance today with his flicks and tricks linking up the midfield and attack – bringing so much more than rival fans realise.
Firmino was involved in the second goal with his typical elegance – and continues to impress without getting on the scoresheet.
When he does though, we will celebrate it for him even more.
