Liverpool have been backed to win their transfer battle with Real Madrid.

Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah have been on everyone’s lips for their tremendous form this season, but that form comes with its downsides.

For a start, clubs who fancy themselves as higher up the food chain than Liverpool will be sniffing around the pair as they spy deals that can take them higher up the ladder.

Jurgen Klopp has made Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah an indispensable part of his attacking trident, with Roberto Firmino at the tip. Losing either one of them would be a massive blow.

But the Reds have been backed in their transfer battle against Real Madrid by one man who has links with both clubs.

The World Game wrote that Nicolas Anelka thinks the Reds are on par with the Spanish side and that would make any movement between the two sides redundant.

"“Salah and Mane are ranking in the top five best players in the world right now. They have the quality to play for Real Madrid.“But today Liverpool can compete with Real Madrid so they don’t need to move. Liverpool is very much the place to be.”"

Klopp has delivered the Champions League and the Premier League to Merseyside in the last two seasons, as well as the European Super Cup and Club World Cup.

With the team bonding well on and off the field, swapping Anfield for the constant turmoil of Madrid would be a seismic shift.

While Real have money, they aren’t necessarily in the mood to spend it. They are always looking to improve the side, but COVID-19 has had an impact on their finances.

Just like any other side in the world, they are playing things a little bit careful at the moment and the club wouldn’t be willing sellers.

With 19 goals this season, Mohamed Salah is just one away from hitting 20 league strikes in every single campaign under Klopp.

Sadio Mane has 17 so far. While it doesn’t appear as if his season will be as successful as 2018/2019, the Senegal international has still been an incredibly important member of the squad.
