Liverpool midfield: Gini Wijnaldum, Fabinho, Naby Keita

Fans are going through a bit of an existential battle for control of the Gini Wijnaldum narrative, but the only one that matters is the one Klopp has. And he loves him.

Wijnaldum might not be flashy or show up on the YouTube highlights but he does a vital role in protecting the back four and the flanks. If he was forever storming forward in search of a goal or an assist, Liverpool would have massive gaps left behind as Robbo or Trent moved into space.

That’s why he’s so important and that’s why he’ll remain in our predicted line up for this game.

Fabinho has been one of the side’s best midfielder since the restart and will continue to play the role he’s best at: screening the defence. Chelsea are playing in an attractive, attacking fashion and Fab will be really important at stopping the flow of their assault.

Which brings us to Keita. He’s been Klopp’s best midfielder and the performance at Burnley was a real indication of the quality the Guinea international brings to the side. Now’s the chance to let him finish the campaign on a high note before starting next season.

With the protection offered by Gini and Fabinho, Keita will be able to push forward and make life difficult for Lampard’s flimsy defensive line.
