Liverpool star Adam Lallana has confirmed a move away.

The £150,000-a-week star has spoken about his sadness at moving away from Melwood as he’s agreed a three-year deal with Brighton.

Adam Lallana will be able to continue his Premier League career with the Seagulls, who’ll welcome a man of his experience and qualities on and off the ball.

Jurgen Klopp has developed the midfielder into someone who can play as a No. 10 or in a deeper-lying position and that versatility will appeal to his new manager Graham Potter.

It marks a seminal point in Liverpool’s history. Three players who joined from Southampton have left at the same time as Nathaniel Clyne, Lallana and Dejan Lovren have all departed or are set to.

One of the things the playmaker will miss is the team spirit cultivated around Melwood – wrote Neil Jones in Goal.

"He said: “So that’s where the element of sadness comes, but I’m thoroughly excited by the next challenge and what that will bring.”"

While Lallana has been important to Klopp, he’s featured less and less this season. His finest moment came when he scored the all-important goal against Manchester United earlier in the campaign, but the former Saint has struggled to make his mark since then.

This looks like it’ll be a summer of departures rather than arrives for Liverpool, although the club are bound to look at central defenders if Lovren does leave. Check out our transfer rumours page for the latest media reports from around the world!

With Lallana gone, space should open up for Curtis Jones to play more regular football. Just like the former England international, Jones can operate as part of the midfield three or in a more advanced role.

The academy graduate looks to have some special about him and it’ll be exciting to watch him develop as a youngster. There are plenty of role models within the current squad, so the departure of Lallana won’t be too missed in that regard.
