Liverpool fans are freaking out over the signing of Mateusz Musiałowski.

Polish media have reported that the forward has joined the club for an undisclosed fee from SMS Lodz.

We see Mateusz Musiałowski join after Liverpool confirmed exits for Adam Lallana, Dejan Lovren and Nathaniel Clyne and supporters are already getting excited about his potential.

The youngster will go into the development squad after impressing scouts by scoring 130 goals in 80 games. He has been pictured in full Reds gear, next to the Liver Bird on the website of the Stellar Agency.

Musiałowski is one of the best talents in the country, wrote TVP Sport, and can play in a variety of positions across the front three.

He joins fellow Poles  Jakub Ojrzyński, Fabian Mrozek and Kamil Grabara in the Liverpool Academy and will be aiming to sign professional terms like Grabara and Ojrzyński have.

Fans are hoping Musiałowski can follow in the footsteps of Robert Lewandowski, who is currently in the form of his life for Bayern Munich.

The forward cut his teeth in Polish football until 2008, where he played for Znicz Pruszkow and Lech Poznan before a move to Borussia Dortmund for just £4.28 million.

Lewandowski scored 53 goals in 90 appearances in Poland and the rest is history. 103 goals in 187 games for Dortmund meant Munich prized him away for free at the end of his contract, where he has since plundered 242 goals in 285 games – as well as 53 assists.

Musiałowski has been hyped up, but there’ll be a long road to go before he can get anywhere near the level of the Bundesliga legend. As well as the senior competition for places, the Polish starlet will have to compete with the likes of Paul Glatzel and Liam Millar.
