Bernardo Silva is obsessed with Liverpool.
The Manchester City playmaker had a bad day at the office when he decided to tweet his attack against the fanbase, and has double down just 24 hours later.
Liverpool fans decided to rile up the City star after they were knocked out of the Champions League by Lyon, a team who had just finished 7th in Ligue 1.
All’s fair in love and war right? Wrong.
Bernardo Silva took exception to this and posted his attack on the good people of Liverpool, an attack which conveniently forgot a host of his own actions. Actions that don’t look good when held up to the standards he called for on Twitter.
After everyone dog-piled the Portugal international, you’d think he’d have laid low for a little while and returned to social media when the time was right.
He did the opposite.
Silva called out Liverpool supporters again, and appears to be a little bit obsessed with the backlash he continues to get.
It mustn’t be the nicest thing in the world to experience an online attack, but that sort of thing does come with the territory of the super-famous these days. The best thing Silva could have done would be to forget about it, stay away from Twitter and wait for it to die down.
Now he’s turning himself into a pantomime villain and what should have taken a few days for everyone to move onto the next thing is developing into some sort of personal vendetta.
Anfield won’t forget this, nor will the legion of Liverpool fans.
What will happen with this next? Will the City ace continue to fight and battle until his thumbs drop off, or will someone get to him and take that Twitter account away?
Whatever happens, it should be an interesting few days.
