Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster is going nowhere.

There’s been much debate over what the club should do with the forward, but it seems like manager Jurgen Klopp has made up his mind.

According to Duncan Alexander, was who speaking to the Totally Football Show, it doesn’t seem like Rhian Brewster will be moving on loan.

After scoring 11 goals in 22 games for Swansea City, the whole of the English Football League sat up and took notice of the starlet.

Liverpool have already got Divock Origi as their back-up forward, while Takumi Minamino came off the bench to score in the Community Shield on Saturday.

Origi had a poor 2019/2020 and there’s an argument to be made that his time at Anfield should now come to a close. Brewster is the man who would step up and take his place, even if they’re different players.

With three goals in two preseasons games, the youngster’s stock was rising quickly – but that missed penalty brought him back down to Earth a tad.

That’s no matter, said Alexander, who thinks he’ll have a part to play in the season moving forward.

"“Both Brewster and Minamino are going to play a role this season because Liverpool aren’t going to go out and sign players.”"

Rhian Brewster is certainly more of a poacher, and even Klopp has said so, but this team could definitely use a Plan B.

We even saw the potential for the manager to employ a 4-2-3-1 formation once again, which would allow Brewster to play as a more traditional striker with Roberto Firmino pulling the strings in behind.

The Echo reported that Klopp said the youngster needs to learn how to be more involved with the whole game, rather than just popping up when the ball needs to be put in the back of the net.

"“He can learn a lot of things but he is a natural goalscorer. That’s what he is. He can be more involved in games, but in the decisive moments he is 100% there.”"

Keeping him at Anfield is probably one way to teach Brewster the movement and link-up play that Klopp wants, rather than leaving his development to the lottery of the loan system.

As things stand, it looks like we could see more of Brewster in red this season.
