Liverpool have completed a deal for Sheyi Ojo.
The Times journalist Paul Joyce confirmed the move via Twitter, which will see the Liverpool U21 player join Championship side Cardiff City on loan. The Echo have done some additional reporting on the move.
Since signing from MK Dons in 2011, the winger has been shipped to Wigan, Wolves, Fulham, Riems and Rangers and is yet to find a permanent home.
Things appeared to be going well for Sheyi Ojo in Glasgow, where. he made 36 appearances, scored five goals and assisted seven, but there’d be no repeat of the Ryan Kent story.
For whatever reason, Steven Gerrard opted against giving the former England U21 international a permanent home at Ibrox and now he’s on the move again.
We’ve seen Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp avoid these sorts of persistent loan deals for players at Ojo’s stage of development. When they need to be sold for the sake of their career, Klopp generally sanctions the deal.
It was thought that Huddersfield Town were in for the forward, but that deal has petered out into nothing.
Kent was moved on, we’ve seen Ovie Ejaria join Reading permanently as has Danny Ings. The futures of Harry Wilson and Marko Grujic are still being sorted out, but there’s every chance they’ll stay until the club can get full value for money.

Ojo has played 50 games in the Championship but he hasn’t featured in the league since his time with Fulham ended in 2017/2018. He did okay, playing 22 games with four goals and two assists, even if persistent little injuries robbed him of momentum and minutes.
The winger will return to the second tier with more experience and some European appearances under his belt as he only missed four out of 17 Europa League group and qualifying games for Rangers.
Ultimately Liverpool will need to find a permanent move away for Ojo. Hopefully that can be with Cardiff, but they can’t keep sending him on loan with no solution for the future.
