Three reasons why Liverpool will dominate the Premier League
Liverpool will dominate the Premier League again.
After blowing away the top flight last season, the Reds are ready to attack again and will quickly prove that they’re no flash in the pan.
Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has already stated his desire to hit the ground running, and combined with the relentless attitude he’s installed in the rest of the squad, we should be able to expect another elite season.
In a mirror image of last campaign, the Reds will be taking on the Championship winners during the first game of the season. Leeds United should pose a different threat to Norwich City and watching Marcelo Bielsa in action will be fascinating.
In terms of the squad, not much has changed. That deal for Thiago is still simmering away in the background, while Gini Wijnaldum could still move to Barcelona and free up space in the squad for that extra midfielder.
Aside from that, we’re seeing more of a gentle evolution under Klopp. It appears as if they’re in no hurry to sign a fourth central defender or another attacker, despite numerous links with Watford star Ismaila Sarr.
The club are also focused on bringing through some of the best talents from Kirkby. Curtis Jones will see increased involvement, as well as Neco Williams and Harvey Elliott.
It’s an exciting time to be a Liverpool fan, even if the rest of the league are spending money and making squad improvements.

We’ve got the best coach in the league
When you look at elite-level managers, there are a few in the game and they all seem to have different ways of operating. Pep Guardiola at Manchester City seems to need to sign players on big money that are already essentially world-class, he’ll then tweak them and find that extra 5%.
This isn’t going to say that Guardiola isn’t good, because he is, but he doesn’t transform footballers in the way that Jurgen Klopp does.
Pep couldn’t take a full-back like Andy Robertson and turn him into one of the best in the world in just six months. He can’t even take someone who cost £51.75 million and get him to the level he needs them to be.
Klopp has overseen massive improvement with every player he’s brought into the side, with the possible exception of Xherdan Shaqiri and Naby Keita. On paper, this isn’t a team who would walk the Premier League yet the German made it so.
With someone like that leading you, anything is possible.
Liverpool have a core group of elite players
Part of the reason why City failed to have a successful third season in a row is the decline in their overall squad ability. They never properly replaced Vincent Kompany while Aymeric Laporte and Leroy Sane got injured and Fernandinho was a year older and played out of position.
While the Brazilian proved to be an excellent makeshift defender, City were robbed of him as a holding midfielder and that’s something Liverpool won’t have to worry about.
Liverpool will retain their front three, who are both in the peak of their career, as are Fabinho, Virgil van Dijk and Alisson. While this is a bit of a ticking time bomb for the future, it should serve well for the next couple of seasons.
If Thiago comes in, Klopp will have another elite midfielder in the ranks. The squad is of an excellent age for now and that will serve them well moving forward.
Liverpool’s fitness levels are incredible
The standards this club hold the rest of the squad to are incredible. There’s no one player who isn’t a complete physical specimen and they’re normally led by bionic man James Milner.
If there’s any squad who can keep their level up throughout the whole season, it’s Liverpool. Every single player looks like a fitness model and they hold themselves to the highest mental standards.
Keeping their insane motivation up for a third campaign will be difficult, certainly, but when the team are lead by Klopp and the fitness coaches that they have, there’s absolutely no reason why they can’t win the league for a second season and get close to 100 points.
