Liverpool player ratings vs Chelsea: Thiago pressures Fabinho
Liverpool player ratings – forwards
Salah wasn’t in the goals this week but he still had a good game and regularly got forward to put Chelsea under pressure. He had a role to play in the first goal and will be pleased with that performance.
He never stopped working for his 100th Premier League goal, displayed plenty of nice little touches but left Mane to hog the limelight as the King left the field without that century of strikes.
Mane had to watch his mate Salah grab three against Leeds, but it was the Senegal star’s turn this week as he hit two against Chelsea.
He worked hard, drew that red card for Christensen, forced Kepa into another error, and could have had three if it weren’t for a rare save from the Blues’ embattled stopper.
We’re never going to see Firmino score goals on a regular basis and this was another game that he provided plenty of hard work and built the platform that allowed Mane and Salah to thrive. He kept the central defenders busy and did manage to assist Mane.
We might see Klopp move towards a different system as the season progresses but you can be sure Firmino will be a key part in that at all times.
