Liverpool player ratings: Forwards

. MOHAMED SALAH. 7. .

The Egyptian didn’t have his greatest game so far this season – of course not – but his pressing again off the ball was incredible.

He did nick a chance off Jota with minutes to go (pecking order, much) but apart from that he was seriously class today.

8.5. . . . SADIO MANE

Mane was, going forward and backwards, the driving force behind Liverpool today. The organiser of the counter-press, and the leader when the Reds were defending from the front.

His performance was worth so much more than the tap-in he got, and he is my man of the match.

He was substituted for Diogo Jota, albeit not happily! But his replacement did usurp him as well as he could!

6. . . . ROBERTO FIRMINO

Off the ball, Firmino was right up there with Liverpool’s best players tonight – but unusually on the ball he was rather sloppy.

His weakness was the final ball – which is totally out of character for the Brazilian. He hardly threatened Leno’s goal either.

Hopefully we can see more end product from Bobby soon.
