Adrian is confusing Liverpool fans.

The back-up goalkeeper has been accused of turning his own Twitter page into a ‘fan account’ after his latest tweet.

It’s clear the Spaniard is loving life at Liverpool. He’s been part of some of the biggest games of the season and performed with various levels of competence, but there’s no question that he’s seen as a valued squad member.

After Allison was out injured for large part of last season, Adrian came into the side and did well as he helped the Reds mitigate the loss of one of their best players.

He came slightly unstuck against Chelsea in the cup and Atletico Madrid at Anfield, and those two performances have tarnished his legacy a little bit.

It seems like he’s been forced to fight for his reputation, which is maybe where the motivation to post his tweet came from.

It started off as just your ordinary, mundane footballer tweet as he celebrated the fact that he made his professional debut eight years ago. But then it morphed into something else.

Like Sir Alex Ferguson taking a deep breath before delivering the hairdryer treatment, Adrian began to rattle off a series of facts and accomplishments that he feels worthy of mentioning. It all seems slightly breathless.

The Spaniard finally landed on his glorious conclusions: the trophies. Three of them: Premier League, European Super Cup, Club World Cup. It’s not a bad haul but there will always be those who think it could have been more if it wasn’t for his errors.

While Adrian was shouting into the void LOOK HOW GOOD I AM, Liverpool fans were shouting in the comments and it’s all got a little bit weird, if I’m honest.

It’s a strange tweet and a bit of a strange day. Hopefully we can get back to normality soon enough.
