Are Liverpool missing Dejan Lovren?

There are some players who might not be the most talented or skilled but bring with them a spirit that no one has.

Dejan Lovren is one such character.

He had an illustrious career with Liverpool as he was a part of the Premier League and Champions League winning squad, but in his defence (or not, judging by his performances), he was one who was slated the most when he had an off performance.

There were times when I lost hope in him after errors like he did against Spurs or in some other crucial games. However, he was one player who knew how to take a punch on the chin and come out of the dark.

Not a lot of players can boast of winning the Premier League and Champions League. For all the slack he got, he did play two Champions League finals, a World Cup final. He has won at least one trophy for all the clubs he represented except Southampton.

His positive attitude and ability to back himself is something that very few players possess. There must have been a reason that Jurgen Klopp stuck around with him in spite of having so many options at center back. According to me, it was his presence in the dressing room.

He knew how to lighten a situation, he knew how to stand up for his teammates. Dejan Lovren was a player that built relationships and we could see the bromance that he shared with Mohamed Salah. He also managed to ensure that he had a strong relationship with the fans as well.

Let us not forget, he was the player who wore a mask and headed to Anfield to celebrate the win with the fans. That does mean something, right?

What I admire the most about him is the fact that he still manages to do that even after leaving the club. Liverpool had a shambolic performance against Aston Villa for one of their worst defeats in history.

Most Liverpool players understandably refrained from posting anything given the noisy and premature #KloppOut and #FSGOut brigade.

This is where Lovren came out in support of his former teammates. Class act Lovren! Check out the twitter thread here:
