Liverpool player ratings: Forwards

MOHAMED SALAH. 8. . .

The only beacon of light in this football match for Liverpool.

Salah scored twice but in vain as we desperately tried to find our way back into the game – but it was just too much for the Egyptian to carry on his shoulders. Personally, it was a good day for the King. But he won’t be happy.

ROBERTO FIRMINO. 3.5. . .

It was nigh-on his worst performance in a Liverpool shirt. The only thing preventing him scoring the same two as Adrian was his assist for Salah’s second.

End product is not Bobby’s game. But he needs to improve it. We all know he’s the engine, but his lack of cutting edge has really cost Liverpool the game this time.

Without the solid defence to bail him out, Firmino’s shortcomings were exposed.

. . DIOGO JOTA. 5.

Bright in the first half, non existent in the next. Diogo Jota was another like Wijnaldum who was a victim of the result.

He won’t be starting against Everton if Mane comes back.
