Robertson, van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold

There’s one question mark surrounding the makeup of this back four but I don’t think Klopp will try to do anything drastic for the Merseyside derby.

We can debate the merits of leaving Gomez in the side vs taking him out but the fact of the matter is that he’s the only fully fit partner for Virgil van Dijk right now and by that measure he should start.

Yeah, Fabinho can play as a centre-back and did so against Chelsea, but that was because Gomez wasn’t fully fit and Klopp didn’t want to risk the England international.

When Joel Matip gets back to 100% this’ll be a different debate, but for now Gomez should continue in his role.

The rest of the side pretty much picks itself. Andy Robertson will be fresh because he missed Scotland’s last international game through suspension and is more rested as a result.

Virgil van Dijk is the best central defender in the league and starts, while Trent Alexander-Arnold will put his slightly odd performance for England behind him and provide the ammunition for the side moving forward.

Everton have had a good start to their campaign but haven’t had to face anything like Trent and Robbo bombing down the flanks, while Gomez and van Dijk will continue their running battle with Richarilson and that’ll be really interesting to watch.
