Liverpool player ratings: Forwards

5. . . . Takumi Minamino

Takumi Minamino was handed his chance but failed to make much of an impression. His touch let him down and Taki become frustrated with himself, so at least we know he cares.

It looked like Minamino struggled to click with the other forwards, and that could come with time, but it was still a poor showing.

4. . . . Divock Origi

It must be really hard for Origi to come into the side and make an immediate impact, but after this showing where does he go next? Origi was poor in possession, inconsistent with the ball at his feet and didn’t really offer much of a threat moving forward.

With Jota and Minamino in the squad, his chances will be rarer than a Roberto Firmino goal at Anfield. You feel for him, but maybe it’s time to try his luck somewhere else.

7. . . . Diogo Jota

Another game, another goal for Jota. The Portuguese international is giving Klopp a lot to think about and will be pleased with his performance.

He started on the right, switched to the left and was involved throughout the game. He showed good movement and anticipation, and looks exactly the right man to back-up our normal front three.
