CM- Jordan Henderson

The Liverpool captain was subbed off at half-time against Midtjylland as a precautionary measure. Given that the 30-year-old trained yesterday, it looks like he will definitely start against West Ham this weekend and will be keen on aiding the team defensively and offensively. With the inexperienced Williams most likely to start, Henderson’s defensive responsibilities could well be a bit more than it usually is.

CM- Georginio Wijnaldum

The likes of Thiago and Naby Keita are yet to come back into the team and Klopp will definitely not want to take any risks with them given their injury records of late. Hence, Wijnaldum will certainly start against West Ham and will be looking to have a good showing through his work rate and link-up play.

AM- Xherdan Shaqiri

The third midfield position seems a bit tricky but I have a feeling Klopp will once again go for a 4-2-3-1 formation. This could see Shaqiri getting the nod just ahead of Takumi Minamino. The Swiss did well against Midtjylland and had a key role in the first goal. He will most likely make his first Premier League appearance of the season and will be eager to create some scoring opportunities for his teammates while trying to find the net himself. However, I’m not completely ruling out  Klopp deploying a 4-3-3 and starting James Milner.
