Tony Cascarino comments prove an anti-Liverpool agenda.

I never ever believed that there was a media bias against Liverpool, despite the insistence from many fans that there was. Did I hear comments and punditry that I didn’t agree with? Of course, I did. However, I always thought of football as a sport with so many variables that differing opinions were inevitable.

But there have been a couple of things in recent weeks that haven’t sat well with me and I am beginning to see that certain areas of sports media have an agenda against the club I love.

Firstly we have former Everton star, Andy Gray, saying that Jordan Pickford’s lunging, feet first, challenge on Virgil Van Dijk was nothing more than a goalkeeper going for the ball.

Ok, I get that he’s an Everton fan and whatnot but his job is to be impartial and give his views on the laws of the game. Let’s be honest if any other player does that anywhere else on the pitch it’s an instant red card.

Secondly, and more disturbing, is the flack that Mohamed Salah got for winning a penalty against West Ham at the weekend.

While English striker Harry Kane was being lauded as being smart for EARNING his side a penalty against Brighton, while also failing to be reprimanded for hitting the deck on several other occasions, Salah woke up to find this headline from former Chelsea flop Tony Cascarino.

"“Mohamed Salah’s dive was an insult to Nobby Stiles and the game he loves”"

It’s idiotic, reprehensible, lazy journalism from a man whose career can best be described as easily forgettable. So forgettable in fact that the only way he can get people to read his opinions is by using the death of a true football legend as clickbait.

While only pinpointing Salah in his argument and not Kane shows his negative bias towards foreign players and Liverpool in particular.

Liverpool on the verge of another transformative signing. dark. Next

I hope Tony has a long hard think about what he wrote and has had a chance to watch Kane and Son flail about for Tottenham. If he hasn’t and still stands by what he said then either Cascarino or the editor that approved his drivel should be sacked immediately.
