Here are the Liverpool player ratings from the Atalanta hammering.

Diogo Jota stole the headlines as he managed to score for a fourth game in a row. The Portuguese star picked up his first Reds hattrick as he made his claim to start against Manchester City.

Roberto Firmino had to watch Jota steal the plaudits as he warmed the bench, while Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah grabbed the other two goals.

The 5-0 win was far better than anyone expected. Atalanta are the side who engrossed the world during their Champions League run last season but Liverpool exposed their high line time and time again.

Rhys Williams missed out against West Ham as Nat Phillips put in a a man of the match performance, but Williams was back in the starting lineup and he helped the Reds keep their third clean sheet in the competition.

Williams put in an excellent performance, while fellow Academy graduate Curtis Jones was picked in midfield and managed to grab an assist – while Neco Williams got eight minutes at the end.

Liverpool finished with four local lads on the field: the two Williams’, Jones and Trent Alexander-Arnold. That’s great to see.

Let’s check out and see how they all got on, starting with Alisson in goal.

Alisson (8/10) The Brazilian started a little bit slowly but made two excellent saves in the second half as he hunted down a clean sheet.
