RW – Mohamed Salah

With Cancelo or Zinchenko at left-back, Salah should have a lot of fun in this game. He’s fit, he’s available and the King is going to try and strike an early blow for Klopp’s title ambitions.

He’s by far-and-away the most clinical of the players involved in this game and already has seven goals this season. By contrast, Mane and Jota have four – while Raheem Sterling is City’s top scorer with two.

CF – Roberto Firmino

This is probably the biggest controversy around team selection, especially after that incredible Jota hattrick. However, Firmino is one of the men that makes Klopp’s team tick – and it’s unlikely that he’ll be left out of the side for such a massive game.

Bobby drops off and tends to link play, which leaves space for Salah and Mane to cut inside and run in behind. Jota attacks the same sort of space that the two inside-forwards like to be in, and although they can all play together (as the win against Atalanta proved), Klopp will go with what’s worked.

LW – Sadio Mane

Mane has four goals this season and will be hunting down Salah, even if he’s three strikes behind. Mane is fit, he’s been playing well and scored in the Champions League against Atalanta. He can do so again.
