Liverpool could lose another player.
The international break hasn’t been kind to the club and we’ve seen players dropping like flies. Mohamed Salah has picked up COVID-19 while on duty with Egypt, and it seems like he’ll miss the Leicester City clash.
We’ve seen Andy Robertson pick up a hamstring problem with Scotland, recover and then take on Israel during the Nations League – while Joe Gomez and Jordan Henderson can blame England for their recent fitness issues.
Roberto Firmino and Alisson Becker came into contact with a coronavirus case while on international duty with Brazil, but it appears as if we’ve managed to get away with that one.
Right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold has been ruled out of the Foxes clash after he picked up an injury against Manchester City, and now Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is going to have to come up with a plan.
James Milner came on for Alexander-Arnold during the City match, but theoretically Neco Williams is the man in reserve if our Scouse star can’t play.
The hopes of last season seemed to have faded and Williams has gone through a bit of a tough time in red. Klopp has taken him out of the firing line, and has a difficult decision to make before Sunday.
However, that decision might have been taken out of his hands. That’s because Williams took a little bit of a knock playing for Wales, confirmed Wales caretaker manager Rob Page.
"“Neco picked up a knock in Sunday’s game it was quite a physical battle at times. He took a kick to the foot, so it’s a little bit sore with him.”"
HITC reported that Williams wasn’t involved in the Cymru clash against Finland because he took a kick in their previous game.
This international break has been absolutely brutal for Liverpool and we’ve seen player after player drop by the wayside. Ordinarily this wouldn’t be a problem, but with Alexander-Arnold succumbing to injury and the knocks to Joe Gomez and Virgil van Dijk, this is the last thing we need.
