Right-back: James Milner 7/10

He doesn’t have the crossing range of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who is missing due to injury, but the stand-in’s passing range was excellent and ensured that Liverpool didn’t miss out too much in that respect.

Saying that, he did provide the corner kick that lead to Evans’ own goal – so what do we know? Milner moved into central midfield after Keita limped off and Williams slotted into right-back.

Centre-back: Joel Matip 7/10

Was injury free, which is the main thing, but also helped to marshall the excellent Leicester attack well. With no Joe Gomez or Virgil van Dijk, the whole side will be looking to Matip to stand up and be counted, and in this game he did.

Centre-back: Fabinho 7/10

We saw an early example of why Fabinho can settle in at centre-back so easily when he read the danger from a James Justin run forward, occupied the space well and ensured it came to nothing. With his range of passing and positioning skills, Fab has all the ingredients to make an excellent central defender.

Left-back: Andy Robertson 8/10

We know all about his crossing ability but it’s always a joy seeing the results of that as Robbo set up Jota’s goal with a fine ball into the box. Patrice Evra called it a ‘caviar’ cross and he’s 100% right about that. An excellent day all round.
