Liverpool fans are not happy with a 25-year-old.

The Reds fielded a heavily rotated side against Danish side Midtjylland as they started several fringe players and promising youngsters – as well as a couple of first teamers coming back from injury.

In a sign of the times, Neco Williams and Curtis Jones were rested and replaced by Trent Alexander-Arnold and Naby Keita. The pair were making their first starts since picking up injuries earlier in the season.

They were joined by Rhys Williams, Leighton Clarkson, Takumi Minamino and Divock Origi as Jurgen Klopp gave the big guns a rest.

Mohamed Salah started this one and scored after just 55 seconds, but Liverpool weren’t able to build on their lead and Midtjylland drew level thanks to an Alexander Scholz penalty.

Both sides had chances to secure the tie – Origi was unmarked but couldn’t hit the target – and eventually, the game drew to a close with each side sharing the spoils.

Origi has barely featured this season and hasn’t impressed with he has. The Belgian has played just one Premier League minute this campaign but has three in the Champions League under his belt and is a useful rotation option.

However, Liverpool fans aren’t happy with his contribution and want the 25-year-old gone. It must be hard for the forward to come into the side out of the cold and get up to speed.

For players who aren’t elite, this seems like a tall order. Origi is never going to be a regular starter under Klopp and maybe he needs to leave for the good of his career, because right now this is doing him no favours.

the Belgian was seen as the ultimate supersub and seemed to relish the role, but his performances have dipped to an alarming degree and there seems to be no way back.
