Liverpool fans have hit out at a ‘massive flop’.

The Reds struggled to get a result against relegation candidates Fulham, especially after the home side opened the scoring in London.

It took a Mohamed Salah penalty to ensure Jurgen Klopp made the trip back to Merseyside with a point, although that was about the extent of the good news for the German.

Joel Matip, the only fit senior centre-back, was withdrawn at half-time after he suffered from a back spasm. Diogo Jota, who has impressed so much since joining in the summer, picked up a knee problem during the week and could be out for six week – as could reserve left-back Kostas Tsimikas.

One other man who is out is the unfortunate Naby Keita, who is testing the patience of Liverpool fans across the globe because of his awful fitness record.

Since joining the club from RB Leipzig three summers ago, the Guinea international has struggled to string together a run of games and is out once more.

Kieta started the first five Premier League games and it appeared as if things were going well and that the midfielder was beginning to grasp his rare chance to cement a place in the engine room.

Since his 45 minutes in the 7-2 loss at the hands of Aston Villa in October, the 25-year-old has made just four appearances out of a possible 14.

That’s a lot of games missed, especially so someone who cost so much money. In this light, you can see why some Liverpool fans are beginning to lose patience with the man, who has some outstanding natural ability.

Expect nobody is able to see this ability, at least not for long. Keita’s recent history suggests that he’ll always struggle to stamp his authority on the Premier League. Maybe it’s time to cut our losses
