Liverpool wants to sign the Bundesliga’s latest superstar.

Reports coming out of the Daily Mail indicate that the Reds are on the hunt for one of Germany’s army of starlets.

The Bundesliga has been an incredibly fertile place for youth development and we’re being introduced to many players who could take their place at the top of their game within the next five years.

We’re seeing Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz score goals, grab assists and play games but it’s another 17-year-old that Liverpool are interested in.

Jamal Musiala has hit the ground running with Bayern Munich but has just 18 months left on his contract, which is worrying some bosses in Bavaria.

The Daily Mail have reported that they’re keen to tie him down to a new and improved contract because Liverpool are closely monitoring the progress of Musiala.

Musiala has played nine times in the Bundesliga and has three goals. He’s progressed incredibly quickly since moving from Chelsea to the Munich U17 set-up in 2019 and has already made three Champions League appearances.

Jurgen Klopp likes the starlet, said the Mail, while Manchester United and Manchester City are also tracking the youngster. He’s another example of someone who fled the nest early, has been handed his chance in the Bundesliga and could cost an arm-and-a-leg to bring back.

If Liverpool could get in there early, convince Musiala to turn down the Bayern contract offer, and tempt the 17-year-old to swap Bavaria for Merseyside, they could save themselves a lot of money in the future.

It would be incredibly exciting to see Musiala take to the field with Liverpool’s latest starlet, Curtis Jones. Jones has been very impressive during this campaign, and has improved tactically, technically and plays the game with an intelligence beyond his years.

Will we see Musiala and Jones lining up on the same side? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
